Membership of the Tree Society is open to all who have an interest in trees and who wish to learn more about them. To this end informal expeditions into the "bush" are arranged so that members may visit interesting places that they would not normally be able to see. On these outings there is an opportunity to get to know many different species, which is important as recognition is the first step towards encouraging interest in and the conservation of trees.

The Society's aims are as follows:-

  1. To create an awareness amongst the public of the importance of trees.
  2. To bring together persons who are interested in trees.
  3. To protect the indigenous woody vegetation of Zimbabwe and to foster its proper management, including the reclamation of wasteland and areas of scrub woodland.
  4. To stimulate interest in the planting of trees.
  5. To collect and encourage collection of all forms of information relating to trees and to publish it by all available means.
  6. To promote the development of the arboreta in Zimbabwe.

To co-operate with any organisation which has any of the above objectives.
