Cocktails - Always a happy way to get together - I really don't know who is in this photograph - has anyone any ideas? I am third from the left - the lady on the right was from Lagos.

Dinner was alway in style. This was a gala night but we always dressed for dinner. I was known for my love for fried plantain and black coffee!

Shipboard horse-racing - Victor with Reg Hughes Calling the bets
"I came across this site whilst writing a family history. Reg Hughes,
Purser on the "Aureol", was my uncle.

"I'm sorry to say that Reg died about 8-9 years ago.

After he left Elder Dempster he went into pub management in Lancashire
with his wife, my auntie Enid and two sons. They moved to Lytham St
Annes where Reg enjoyed golf before he became ill.

He was a wonderful uncle."
