Our Purser - Reg Hughes (on the Apapa)

A very comfortable ship!

"I came across this site whilst writing a family history. Reg Hughes,
Purser on the "Aureol", was my uncle.

I'm sorry to say that Reg died about 8-9 years ago.

After he left Elder Dempster he went into pub management in Lancashire
with his wife, my auntie Enid and two sons. They moved to Lytham St
Annes where Reg enjoyed golf before he became ill.

He was a wonderful uncle."
