Poncho
We took him to the Friend Foundation on Saturday 26
November as they are soon to drive down to Chipangali with half
a dozen or so other vervets of similar age for the 'rehab into the
wild' process to start.
From a cowering, terrified, malnourished wreck, Caroline has made
Poncho into a confident little vervet who is now more than ready
to start his rehab.
Here is a picture of Caroline and Poncho at Friend Foundation just
before he was put with the other vervets. He was not keen to let
go of Caroline at first but by the time we left, he was starting
to come out of his shell and the others seemed to be making him
welcome.
We visited again on Sunday and watched him, from a
distance. He knew we were there as he heard the car and then saw
us but he seems quite happy and at home.
Hopefully Caroline will go with Christine Dean from Friend Foundation
down to Chipangali in the next couple of weeks with Poncho and the
others - fuel permitting.
