NAME PLATES Your basic slab can also be the foundation for name plates to add an unusual touch to a dinner party setting or as identification cards for a choice of desserts on a buffet table. Make rounds, ovals, squares or oblongs by cutting with a plain or fluted cutter or using a template. When cutting use a cotton bud to help loosen any stubborn shapes from the cutter by pressing lightly on the chocolate shape inside the cutter. Names can be piped with chocolate or icing using a plain or star nozzle. Decorate the edges using a star nozzle for the best effect. Small icing roses or other decorations may be attached with a blob of melted chocolate or piped directly onto the plates. Silver balls or other small bought decorations can also be used |
