Another Volunteer will be placed at the camp when the two existing volunteers leave. USERS : Rifa needs your support ! Rifa to date has relied heavily on the support of the ZHA to fund its operation. Due to a decrease in income to the ZHA from citizen hunting, Rifa now finds itself in the situation where operating costs are exceeding levels of support from the ZHA. We therefore need contributions from private industry to continue running Rifa. The Financial picture In the current economic climate the costs of operating Rifa continue to spiral. The financial aim of Rifa is to be self sustaining to avoid reliance on ZHA subsidies. The majority of our income is from camp fees and ZHA dues. Rifa tries to minimize yearly increases in camp fees to keep the camp affordable and offers subsidies to schools demonstrating financial hardship. When taking into account the value of time spent at Rifa by volunteers, the true cost of running Rifa cannot be met by local schools, so it is the responsibility of the Rifa Conservation Education Camp to find the majority of these costs. How can you help ? By supporting Rifa you will directly enable young Zimbabweans to continue to enjoy and benefit from the programme offered at Rifa. Based on past experiences and requests from disadvantaged schools we have a few suggestions for the form of your contribution. These are : Adopt a school camp;
By contributing to Rifa your company can obtain a tax concession. Rifa and ZHA will also promote your donation through newsletters and media releases where appropriate. You may also receive a school report and photos if you directly support a school. The Rifa Conservation Camp is a well established
programme in need of your support. Without this it is in danger of becoming
extinct. Please send your donations to the Rifa Conservation Education
Camp or contact the office for any further enquiries. Rifa Conservation Education Camp |
